Ashton Park Sports Centre

Visit from the Kenyans

Ashton Park School has now hosted 4 visits from teachers of Inspirations School. Since the first visit in 2008 we have had 12 teachers come to us to help us develop our plans for developing our joint curriculum. The visits have been partly funded by the British Council

Visits from Inspirations Teachers:

• 2007 - Funding secured from the British Council for visits
• 2008 – Two Teachers and a Governor visit us to discuss possible curriculum projects.
• 2009 – Three Teachers visit us to launch a range of curriculum projects and to learn about how we run APS
• 2010 – Two Teachers and a Governor visit us to continue the curriculum project development
• Curriculum Projects lunched so far include: life swap – looking at the similarities and differences in our life styles and standards of living
• Over ten projects have now been identified and are being introduced into the curriculum in both schools

The latest visit from our Kenyan friends took part in September & October this year. Dominc, Naomi & Wilfried spent time in school looking at lessons, visiting our Trust partner Primary schools and even making a film of their exploits!
They are now back in Sunny Kenya making plans for our Mini Olympic event next July.
